Position Overview

Under the direction of Web Engineering Manager- Data, the Data Quality Engineer is someone who is responsible for the design and development of a wide range of tools and applications including command-line interfaces, CI systems and web applications in accordance with company policies and procedures. Duties include work with cross functional teams and managers to ensure data integrity, data security, and compliance of connected hardware and software systems. The Data Quality Engineer will work to identify areas of improvement in the entire data processing life cycle of both existing and new products.


Develop and support tools that are used to verify compliance of products under development and troubleshoot product data issues

Create and document data testing procedures including data flow diagrams and validation procedures

Conduct manual and automated testing for software and hardware systems with a focus on data integrity

Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plans

Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like test data, data validation scripts and automated scripts

Identify any potential quality issues and escalate potential quality issues to appropriate team members

Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes

Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements

Other projects as needed




Minimum of a 4-year degree in a computer science or computer engineering discipline OR equivalent experience.


2+ years of relevant software testing experience

2+ years of software scripting experience and automated testing


Clear communicator (written and verbal) to ensure ability to write test plans and test cases and to communicate bugs to developers and other stakeholders

Creative solving of technical problems to ensure the ability translate business requirements into test plans

Thorough and detail-oriented, working within established processes and to create new process to ensure high quality data systems

Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables to ensures the ability to find the defects quickly

Strong sense of initiative and a sense of urgency, demonstrated by accomplishing tasks; improving current work processes; and assisting others when necessary

Able to project a positive and professional demeanor to all internal and external contacts
