Job Title: Retail General Manager
Reports To: Director of Operations
Employment Type: Salaried, Exempt
Position Summary
The Retail General Manager is responsible for the operations of the co-located (medical and adult use) Fairhaven dispensary, ensuring a best-in-class customer experience while maintaining compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations. This role is responsible for supervising the retail sales team (reception, budtenders, leads and the assistant general manager), driving sales performance, and partnering with the marketing team to coordinate and lead all in-store and community-oriented marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Customer Experience
Lead, motivate, and coach budtenders and leads to deliver exceptional service and product education.
Monitor sales KPIs and develop strategies to meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals.
Cultivate a welcoming, knowledgeable, and compliant retail experience for all customers and patients.
Resolve escalated customer issues with professionalism and empathy.
Operations & Compliance
Oversee opening and closing procedures, including all required cash handling activities.
Ensure all transactions and operations comply with state cannabis regulations (e.g., METRC) and Bask standard operating procedures.
Partner with compliance and inventory teams to maintain accurate product counts, labeling, and manifests.
Communicate feedback from staff and customers to upper management to improve operations and engagement.
Ensure adequate inventory in both medical and adult use operations, transferring as needed.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe dispensary environment.
Team Development & Management
Create and maintain work schedules for retail staff
Recruit, train, and develop retail staff to uphold product knowledge, sales skills, and regulatory awareness.
Conduct regular performance check-ins and support career growth opportunities.
Manage sales team labor to meet operational needs efficiently.
Coordinate and lead a weekly team meeting with: Inventory Manager, Packaging Manager, Compliance Manager, Creative Manager and the Director of Operations.
Assist with any other tasks as required or delegated by upper management
Qualifications
3–5 years of retail management experience (cannabis industry preferred).
Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and managing team performance.
Strong understanding of state cannabis regulations and compliance systems (e.g., METRC, Dutchie POS, etc.).
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, regulated, and customer-facing environment.
Must be 21+ years old and able to pass state-required background checks.
Preferred Skills
Experience in cannabis, hospitality, or high-volume retail environments.
Knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods.
Proficiency with retail technology platforms (POS, inventory, CRM).
Strong analytical skills and business acumen.

Salary- $70-75K depending on experience
