The Stanford Center on China’s Economy and Institutions (SCCEI) is Stanford’s home for empirical, multidisciplinary research on China’s economy. We aim to foster path-breaking research, create transformative student experiences, and advance public understanding of China’s economy and its impact on the world. Our research runs the gamut from developing interventions to improving early child health and education, to conducting large-scale surveys of Chinese factory workers and college students, to detailed analyses of China’s carbon emissions data.
The Administrative Manager will provide management and coordination of general office services, financial transactions and policy guidance, and administrative operations-related functions for SCCEI. Partnering with the Associate Director for Administration and Finance on a multitude of departmental matters, the Administrative Manager will be vital in building a strong operational foundation for the center.
Central to the responsibilities of the Administrative Manager is sound decision making, providing guidance on policy compliance and processes to the faculty, staff, researchers, and visitors of the center on a wide variety of administrative, operational, and financial matters. The Administrative Manager should have excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a positive attitude, and the ability to manage a wide variety of needs in a fast-paced academic environment with frequently shifting priorities.
This recruitment is for a one (1) year fixed-term, benefits-eligible position which begins on the start date and may be renewable in the future based on funding availability.
