Job Summary:

The Director, Digital Product Management at the Ad Council serves as a digital strategic leader within the Ad Councils campaign development team, overseeing the development of digital products for Ad Council campaigns, mentoring team members, and tracking digital trends. We are looking for a talented, passionate digital professional who wants to help us build best in class digital experiences for social good. In this role, you will get to work with the top advertising, digital and social agencies in the country as well as talented web developers and user experience leaders in the field. You will be part of a group that values innovation, collaboration and is passionate about our end users.

You will work on projects ranging in size and scope from managing the production of a landing page to developing robust websites with many interactive features. Digital products include: websites (mobile first, accessible), mobile apps, chatbots, campaign toolkit websites, ongoing website maintenance and optimization, generative AI applications, and other internal Ad Council digital initiatives both internal and external. You will also mentor a digital product manager, and recommend and advocate for best practices across all digital products. You will manage the development and optimization of products that either live on Craft CMS, our enterprise CMS Brightspot, or microsites that live within a campaign sponsors website or on their servers.

The compensation for this position is within the range of $95,000 $110,000 annually (based on experience level). The compensation package also includes an annual incentive, comprehensive benefit offerings, and generous paid time off.

What youll do:

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to create product strategy briefs and roadmaps that deliver on campaign KPIs and objectives
  • Manage the RFP and vendor selection process, including the development of RFPs to send to potential digital agencies, evaluating proposals and selecting vendors, and leading contracting processes including reviewing statements of work and procuring the necessary approvals
  • Work closely with digital agencies, freelancers, and cross-functional Ad Council team to oversee the development process for digital products including: presenting the product strategy and roadmap to stakeholders and securing necessary approvals, conducting regular meetings, and managing the product from concept through launch and beyond
  • Develop and manage product timelines and budgets, coordinate site deliverables including content and copy, and acting as the primary point of contact for the digital agency and internal/external decision-makers
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with internal Ad Council teams, including analytics, strategy & evaluation, and campaign development, to create digital product evaluation, analytics tagging, and user research plans
  • Lead retrospectives, capturing and sharing learnings to be applied to future product development
  • Advocate for and/or lead implementation of SEO strategy and accessible design and development on campaign microsites developed by the Ad Council and our agencies
  • Proactively suggest recommendations and optimizations to digital products Stay current with trends in technology and media to guide the direction of future efforts
  • Identify opportunities to represent the Ad Council and our digital work at industry conferences and thought leadership events.
  • Work closely with other team members, as well as cross-functional leads, to optimize approach to product

What you bring:

  • 6+ years of experience building consumer-facing digital products as a product manager or product owner, working in all phases of the product life cycle, including ideation, design, development, launch, and iteration and optimization
  • Experience writing and implementing product roadmaps and user testing plans; defining campaign analytics; and leading content strategy
  • Demonstrated history of setting digital product KPIs and developing and executing plans to achieve these performance metrics
  • Proven expertise working with and influencing a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including developers, designers, copywriters and client and organizational leadership
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to turn user insights into relevant strategies, optimizations, and priorities to improve digital product KPIs for both new and emerging and mature digital products
  • Strong point of view on UX for digital products (primarily websites) grounded in knowledge of best practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong emotional intelligence and problem-solving skills
  • Strong digital product ideation skills coupled with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate and build successful relationships across multiple functions and business areas both internally and externally and with varying degrees of technical expertise
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Analytics, and commonly used product management platforms, e.g. JIRA, Asana, Airtable, etc.
  • Experience working with any CMS platforms, with preference for Craft and WordPress; experience working in any enterprise CMS a plus

Qualities of a standout candidate:

  • Advertising agency or other relevant marketing experience
  • Experience with generative AI products
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices for websites
  • Familiarity with Google Tag Manager and Google Cloud Platform
  • Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 AA and 508 accessibility requirements
