Job Description:

The incumbent directs the Division of Evaluation and Research; initiates, funds, implements, and reports on applied research projects in child development, system change, and communication; and connects research and theory to the evaluation practices. Primary administrative responsibilities include providing the overall vision and direction for the Division, developing grant proposals and seeking funding, supervising Division staff and graduate students, developing and monitoring the Division budget, coordinating projects, and serving as the liaison with the Office of Child Development (OCD) leadership, other OCD Division Directors, and other stakeholders.

Major development responsibilities include: identifying and responding to requests for proposals for research and development; initiating, designing, funding, and implementing applied research projects. Overall, the Office of Child Development has a major focus on developing and implementing a mission of social justice and equity. The Director of the Division of Evaluation and Research will contribute to this effort by demonstrating a deep commitment to using this lens to their division’s work and working with the leadership team to champion this focus office wide. PhD in psychology, education, social work, public health, or related field preferred. PhD with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience will be considered qualified. Specialized training and experience in evaluation preferred.
