JOB TITLE: Electronic Warfare Engineer SME – WWG

PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Special Programs Office (AFLCMC/WWG) develops, tests, and rapidly fields classified Air Force aeronautical capabilities. Executing a significant budget, the AFLCMC/WWG conducts studies to identify new capabilities; transitions laboratory technologies to operational platforms; executes demonstrations; and develops, tests, and rapidly fields new capabilities for the warfighter.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Subject Matter Expert in electronic warfare and systems engineering supporting classified programs utilizing DoD, AF and common engineering and scientific principles, criteria and procedures for the procurement of systems, subsystems, and life cycle acquisition management.
•Translate user requirements into system requirements. Analyze operational requirements, evolving requirements or deficiencies, investigate and recommend potential solutions, evaluate Contractor proposed design changes and solutions, perform systems analyses and technological/trade-off study assessments, and oversee the correction of deficiencies.
•Review specifications, including system, system segment and equipment specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
•Interface with weapons system contractors, vendors, and Government representatives regarding the technical aspects of engineering activities; independently apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, oversee, and evaluate weapons system development and sustainment activities; and prepare and review engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
•Apply knowledge of and expertise in systems engineering for the long-term sustainment, modification improvements, and test & evaluation of AF weapon systems.
•Support all phases of subsystem component and system-level integration and testing that includes: develop and review test plans and procedures, oversight of integration and test activities, and analysis of test results.
•Provide engineering expertise, oversight, and participation to activities involving weapons system and associated support equipment hardware/software development, integration and test, configuration management, quality assurance testing, and acquisition and resource management.
•Support program technical interchange meetings, program management reviews, test-related meetings, lab and flight test events, integrated product team meetings, software/hardware design reviews, and platform integration meetings.
•Perform technical risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
•Conduct technical evaluations of contractor proposals.
•Provide systems/subsystems integration support for the acquisition, development and verification of systems and equipment. Support weapons systems lifecycle including but not limited to analysis of alternatives, creation of investment strategies, manufacturing, support and end-of-life processes.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Secret
•SECRET security clearance with Single Scope Background Investigation within the last six years and the ability to obtain Special Access Programs (SAP) access and apply for a TOP SECRET clearance.
•Bachelors Degree in Engineering with 20 years of relevant experience or Masters Degree in Engineering with 18 years of relevant experience.
•In-depth knowledge of DoD acquisition engineering and test support.

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
•TOP SECRET security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility and background investigation current within the past 6 years.
•Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
•Masters Degree in Engineering.
•12 months or more of Special Access Program (SAP) experience within the past 5 years.
•Electronic warfare engineering experience.
•General understanding of avionics and other aircraft systems and their integration on a host platform.
•Test experience and DoD Acquisition Program Office experience.
•Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification in Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering.

WORK LOCATION: Wright-Patterson AFB, OH
