The EHS Fire and Life Safety Specialist will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of fire and life safety,and other safety programs for the campus. This position will be responsible for testing fire alarm systems, monitoring sprinkler systems, and maintaining life safety equipment such as AED’s, and fire extinguishers. The EHS is responsible for issuing hot work permits, recordkeeping, as well as, employee and student training. Duties will include: inspecting facilities and systems, coordinating repairs of life safety equipment, working with the campus facilities department to complete repairs. Must be able to prioritize assignments, work in a fast-paced environment, and respond to emergency conditions, including afterhours. It will be essential to have skill, or gain knowledge and understanding, interpreting NY State Building Code, NY State Fire Code, NFPA, and PESH regulations. |
