Job Description:
Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Inbound Logistics Manager, the Import & Export Specialist will be responsible for all day to day import and export transactions as well as record keeping and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the position will provide operational and administrative support to the Supply Chain and Logistics departments. This position will execute routine transnational tasks in addition to departmental projects as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Track and trace import shipments and oversee/communicate deliveries to all warehouse locations
- Perform operational duties including goods receipts, movements and Supply Chain functions as needed
- Assist in the classification, maintenance and record keeping of our trade compliance files and records
- Ability to read and interpret bills of material, engineering drawings, manuals and other technical data
- Ensure that all documents are accurate, disseminated and retained per company and regulatory requirements
- Review all import and export transactions for proper trade compliance and material classification
- Communicate concise information internally and externally with transportation vendors and global shippers
Customer Service Inquiries:
- Work closely with all internal and external suppliers and vendors
Maintain Work Practices:
- Maintain work area to 5S standards as posted in work area
- Promote a positive team atmosphere with co-workers
Marginal Job Functions:

Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate degree in business preferred or minimum 3-5 years equivalent position related experience
- Experience:
- History of proven Logistics and Supply Chain experience with preference to procurement, international transportation, documentation and administrative duties
- Aptitude for self-management, taking initiative and problem solving
- Experience with and knowledge of airfreight, ocean freight and international trade preferred
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and written with all levels of personnel and management
- Excellent written and verbal communication along with multi-tasking, prioritization and organization skills
Other Requirements:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (knowledge of pivot tables, v-lookup, auto filters, etc.)
- Well versed with Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP
- Ability to analyze data, create reports and maintain metrics
- Valid drivers license is required
