Job Description:
Position Overview:
Under the direction of Vice President of Product Management, the Product Manager is someone who provides direction, develops product briefs and develops networks of dealers and/or experts in accordance with company policies and procedures. Duties include market research, product development support and marketing/sales support. This is a non-supervisory position.
Responsibilities:
Product Development:
• Manage products through development process and timelines from cradle to grave
• Meet with internal sales teams and customers to identify product opportunities
• Create Market Product Proposals setting price points and specifications to fulfill product need
• Work with designers to create industrial design that can meet price and specification requirements
• Communicate with factory about final product specifications and design
• Work with engineering team on costing and BOM issues
• Act as the communication bridge between sales and manufacturing
• Write and manage Owners Manuals and Assembly Guides
• Assist with customer quality concerns related to design and features
Market Research:
• Maintain up to date competitive analysis for the Sporting Goods Fitness category
• Have a clear understanding of major fitness trends in home fitness
• Structure consumer research with marketing for key projects
Innovation:
• Identify future opportunities two to three years in advance
• Bring two new concepts a year to the R&D center for further research
Marketing/Sales Support:
• Work with marketing for on product materials, colors, and other marketing driven assets
• Be able to create and give high quality presentations about the product to customers and sales teams
• Work with marketing to identify branding and customer pleasing opportunities
Marginal Job Functions:
• Other projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
• BS (business, engineering, or related field) required
• MBA a plus; Engineering undergrad is a plus preferred
Experience:
• 5 years of hard goods product management/development preferred
Other Requirements:
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint required
• Familiarity with Solidworks preferred
• Remote work and communications software experience required
• Domestic, local, and international travel will be required (20%)
