Job Description:

The University of Pittsburgh Computing Services and Systems Development (CSSD) department is seeking a Cloud Computing Service Owner to help introduce and connect internal customers to available Azure and/or AWS services.

The Service Owner is responsible for managing one or more services throughout their lifecycle. The position duties include the following: boosting adoption and awareness of services, engaging with customers, acting as customer advocates within the organization, gathering feedback, coordinating service-related initiatives, identifying, tracking relevant metrics to aid in decision making, aid in the development of marketing, and acting as the liaison for customer’s questions.

Additional responsibilities include making formal service strategy recommendations to CSSD Management, coordinating and/or providing customer training, identifying opportunities for existing and new services, and creating/reviewing service related documentation and processes. This position may need to create or refine policies and processes and compile budget requirements for assigned services. This position is responsible for ensuring that services deliver value to the University community.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in CS, IS or a related field, have at least 10 years’ experience in the IT field along with strong customer support experience, project planning experience and an established track record of achieving set goals. Candidate must be able to build relationships and facilitate collaboration across multiple teams. A positive attitude, a willingness to learn and grow, along with the enthusiasm to own related services will be critical for success. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required. The ability to lead multiple initiatives, prioritize, make informed decisions, resolve dynamic problems, and deliver on tight deadlines is essential. Complete accuracy in writing is crucial. BS in IS, CS, or related field or the equivalent in experience. Technical knowledge and some experience with the following: cloud technologies and how they integrate with other University services, manage a diverse set of technologies, user needs related to information technology, document management concepts and how to apply them to solve customer requirements, survey tools and how to prepare effective surveys.
