KMEA is an environmental, energy, engineering and sustainability (E3S) consulting company providing professional engineering, scientific, and technical services to our clients throughout the United States and internationally.

 

We are seeking an experienced, full-time, Lead Construction Inspector to oversee and perform inspections of construction projects at Tinker Air Force Base near Oklahoma City, OK.  This position is located on Tinker Airfield Base in Oklahoma.  Working at this location is a requirement for the job.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing Title II construction inspection and oversight.
  • Providing design review and suggestions for correcting errors.
  • Reviewing material, equipment, and commissioning submittals.
  • Supporting construction contractor Requests-For-Information.
  • Notifying the Contracting Officer (CO) and COR of critical issues that may affect the contract performance and/or human health and the environment.
  • Providing photographs and maintaining daily log of construction activities.
  • Coordinating schedules and work of additional construction inspectors.
  • Performing most assignments independently, but consulting with others and receiving technical guidance on unusual or complex problems.
  • Planning work and meeting deadlines without supervisor action.
  • Following company safety standards and site safety standards.
  • Understanding and adhering to company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in construction practices, procedures, and testing, including at least three (3) years quality control management of Department of Defense (DoD) construction projects.
  • Experience MUST include DoD airfield pavements
  • Knowledgeable in federal and DoD contracts required.
  • Has completed a Construction Quality Control Management (QCM) course from the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Naval Facilities Command (NAVFAC), or from an approved third-party instructor within the last five (5) years.
  • Candidate must be able to be approved by U.S. Air Force prior to hire.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), PowerPoint; familiarity and working knowledge of AutoCAD, or other software is also a plus.
  • Must be approved to work on a DoD installation.
  • Must be an organized, motivated, and detail-oriented team player.
  • Valid driver’s license required and must meet KMEA’s auto insurability requirements.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test, MVR check and federal government background check.
  • Must prove eligibility to work in the US.
  • Must provide proof of COVID 19 vaccination
