Job Description: SUNY Empire State College seeks a skilled Lead Programmer-Analyst (State Title: Lead Programmer-Analyst) in Information Technology Services to support the college’s Ellucian Banner and other enterprise administrative systems. The Lead Programmer-Analyst performs analysis, programming, development of reports using reporting tools as well as testing, documentation and support of student information systems in a higher education environment. Responsibilities include: Support and maintain the core student information system modules. Diagnose and resolve problems in the maintenance and support of administrative applications. Analyze existing business processes to realize efficiencies while providing excellent student and staff support. Provide advice and guidance to technical staff including programmer/analysts. Integration support of external systems with Ellucian Banner and CRM systems. Serves as a liaison to functional offices. Excellent customer service and advanced communication skills a must. Ability to work in rapidly changing technological and team-oriented environment is essential. Requirements: Required Qualifications: Associate’s degree with 5 years’ relevant job experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 3 years’ relevant job experience. Demonstrated experience working with relational databases including complex SQL statements. Ability to analyze and document the business processes functional areas of the college. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Experience supporting student information systems (Ellucian Banner, Colleague, etc.) or customer relations management system (Ellucian Recruit, MS Dynamics, Salesforce). Experience with one or more of the following: Relational database such as Oracle RDBMS, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, etc.; Web development frameworks and languages (JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, HTML, JAVA, C#, PL/SQL, XML, JSON, Groovy, Grails, .NET, Spring, etc.); Apache Tomcat, IIS. Familiarity with the ITIL Framework concepts.
