Job Description:

Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Logistics Supervisor, the Logistics and Installation Coordinator must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and in accordance with company policies and procedure while reporting to those department leaders. Duties include working with sales, operations, installers and our customers to effectively, efficiently and timely coordinate and arrange the proper shipping and delivery of our installations, dock to dock deliveries and customer routed shipments. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. This is a non-supervisory position.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate Shipments:

Ensure Sales Orders are accurate, complete and ready for transition to Delivery Notes (packing list)

Review Delivery Notes (packing list) for accuracy, completeness and updated as needed prior to shipping

Obtain freight quotes for shipments as needed and optimize shipments for the most cost effective conveyance

Quickly identify and solve customer and product quality issues as related to product installations. Utilize on-line tools and knowledge gained through in-house product training.

Utilize our CRM system to document and manage product issues during installations.

Ensure proper pricing for cost effectiveness and consolidation prior to shipping

Coordinate customer service communications for deliveries and installations as required

Provide completed packing lists and accompanying documents to warehouse for picking and shipping

Communicate with transportation carriers for pick and delivery of shipments

Disseminate documentation to appropriate parties and retain as needed

Coordinate Returns:

Work closely with return departments to ensure that proper procedures are being followed

Prepare and authorize customer returns as needed

File freight claims

Customer Service Inquiries:

Work closely with all sales staff and customer service

Maintain Work Practices:

Maintain work area to 5S standards as posted in work area

Promote a positive team atmosphere with co-workers

Marginal Job Functions:

May be required to obtain fork lift certification to unload and load trucks as necessary

Other duties and responsibilities as required

 

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent is required

Technical College or practical applied experience preferred

Experience:

Understanding of logistics, transportation and distribution required

Experience in technical and mechanical problem solving preferred

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Familiarity with trucking, shipping and dock operations

Knowledge of ERP, CRM and TMS systems

Other Requirements:

Ability to communicate well both verbally and written

Strong attention to details, multi-tasking, prioritizing, organizations skills

Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills necessary

Understanding of geography and warehouse operations

Valid drivers license is required

Ability to quickly and accurately compare alpha numerical characters and product descriptions
