Job Title: Quality Inspector

Summary/Objective

This position is responsible for support of manufactured product/process to ensure adherence to Century LLC/Customer/Regulatory standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Program and operate CMM’s, Vision System

2. Manual inspection- receiving, first piece, in-process, final inspection.

3. Document data obtained during all quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures.

4. Develop approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.

5. Formally communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provide recommended process solutions.

6. Maintain a working knowledge of new inspection techniques and systems.

7. Complete in-house calibrations on company measuring equipment and assist/lead in the maintenance of Century’s Calibration system.

8. Preserve and package product for shipment.

9. NDT inspections (MPI, Nital Etch, Dye Penetrant).

10. Create Inspection sheets and control plans.

11. Complete associated documentation in Epicor.

Perform other tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager.

  5. Capability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and provide feedback on what is required to meet the requirements of this documentation. (GD&T, Aerospace Standards, Customer Specifications & Drawings)
  6. Solid understanding on the use of hand gaging instruments (Micrometers, calipers, indicators, depth micrometers, profilometers, height gages)
  7. Basic Understanding of machining processes
  8. Ability to provide sound judgement and make decisions on data gathered to continually optimize product quality and production and management processes.
  9. Willingness to learn different methods and systems and encourage and teach team members realized and applied skills.
  10. Capability to work within a team and recognize when a teammate might need for you to shoulder more responsibility.
  11. Support team objectives and targets that support company goals and objectives.
  12. Meet or exceed requirements for cost targets within functional areas.
  13. Comply with the Quality Management System, Safety Practices, and Management Operating System documents relative to your department.
  14. Oversee and comply with company rules and practices in compliance with the Employee Handbook.
  15. Support and participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives throughout the organization including but not limited to kaizen, OEE, Kanban, 6 Sigma, etc.
  16. Comply with 5S housekeeping practices and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  17. Proficient with computers and production management software.
  18. No color blindness and to be able to read Jaeger No 2 letters at 12 inches in at least one (1) eye.
  19. High school diploma with 1 year of manufacturing job experience; preferably in quality control.
