Job Description:

Century, Inc., a leading precision manufacturing company in Traverse City, MI, is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure the accuracy of defined quality requirements.

• Performs complete layout inspection by measuring dimensional requirements using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicator, and CMM, to ensure product meets specifications
• Develop and conduct a variety of tests on inbound material from suppliers
• Adhere to customer inspection requirements
• Manage material that fails to meet inspection specifications
• Be able to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Assists and/or trains operators on part visual acceptability, and measurement and process procedures as required.
• Maintains record of inspections and prepares list of defects, interacts with other departments to ensure compliance with specification and to facilitate the acceptance of parts.
• Help maintain calibration system through collection, calibration, and documentation of gages
• Participate in root cause investigation and corrective action process

• Must have Quality experience
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team,
• Positive and Professional attitude
• In addition to the previous mentioned Roles and Responsibilities, employees must comply with their direct supervisor’s request(s) to participate in special projects or complete tasks that fall outside the scope of this job description
• Basic computer skills- Microsoft Word, Excel
