JOB TITLE: Security Specialist (IT) Journeyman – WWG

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) develops, tests, and fields Air Force aeronautical capabilities. Executing a significant budget, the AFLCMC/WWG Fighter-Bomber Special Programs Division conducts studies to identify new capabilities; transitions new technologies to operational platforms; executes demonstrations; and develops, tests, and fields new capabilities for the warfighter

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides multi-disciplinary security support to manage data, media and documents on a multitude of enterprise information systems and networks supporting classified work environment operations
  • Conducts and communicates with customers the secure transfer of data, use various storage media types, files, and documents originating from/transferred to systems of varying classification and security levels
  • Act as the organizational focal point for all classified data transfers, assured file transfers, document scanning/reproduction & trusted downloads
  • Protect and Validate the marking of classified documents in accordance with the pertinent security classification guides, and verify with subject matter and technical experts, as required
  • Protect classified and sensitive information from disclosure or release to unauthorized personnel
  • Creating and managing media
  • Updating hardware and software baselines
  • Ensure equipment is properly marked and assist in Control Change Boards in compliance with the JSIG manual
  • Safeguard all media, maintenance of custody documentation, and inventory of classified media holdings and perform destruction of classified materials
  • Provide users with training on the classification marking, data transfers/media control, and how to complete request forms and other relevant documentation
  • Perform security and cybersecurity support functions as directed by the Director of security and Government Special Access Program (SAP) Security Officer (GSSO)
  • Classification reviews and processing of in/outbound correspondence, media, and files
  • Perform destruction of classified materials
  • Process optical, magnetic, hard-copy, and electronic media for accountability and assist in the maintenance of databases
  • Maintain logs for a variety of personnel, cybersecurity and media control activities, including transfers
  • Maintain extensive customer database point of contact listing
  • Assist with researching, processing, filing, and maintaining in/outbound visit notices
  • Conduct entry/exit inspections
  • Assist in the maintenance of facility access control systems and preparation of facility access control badges, to include visitor control
  • Follow and enforce the organizational and supported mission partners Standard Operating Procedures

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI

  • TOP SECRET security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility and background investigation current within the past 6 years
  • Bachelors Degree with 5 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma with 6 years of relevant experience

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 12 months or more of Special Access Program (SAP) experience within the past 5 years
  • Experience with optical and magnetic media creation devices, encrypting and encrypting data, forensic analysis, and antivirus scanning software
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAM Level I Certification (CompTIA A+ or Security+)
  • Knowledge of Windows XP, 7, 10, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and forms applications
  • Expertise with computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices
  • Familiarity with document control procedures and forms/workflow management
