Job Description:

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified clinician to join the University Counseling Center as an Embedded Staff Clinician in the Schools of Dental Medicine and Nursing. The University Counseling Center (UCC) exists to ensure healthy and thriving lives for Pitt’s diverse student population by providing crisis intervention, outreach, workshops, group therapy, individual therapy, couples therapy, and teams to assist with disordered eating, gender affirmation, and substance use. To serve the needs of the Dental and Nursing community, we employ a multidisciplinary staff of mental health professionals, including licensed professional counselors, psychologists, social workers and advanced graduate trainees in various mental health disciplines. The successful candidate is committed to cultivating a culturally responsive clinical environment and training program to serve the needs of Dental and Nursing students. The Embedded Staff Clinician will provide direct and indirect services to Dental Medicine and Nursing students, including but not limited to, individual, relationship, and group therapy, clinical consultation, outreach programming, and participate in supervision and training as selected and/or assigned. The Embedded Staff Clinician will have the opportunity to serve on committees within and outside of the Center. Master’s or Doctorate degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work from an accredited program. Preference may be given to applicants with expertise/interest in at least one of the following areas: Professional and/or Graduate Students in Health Sciences; Crisis Management, Multicultural Care, Stepped Care, Telemental Health, Embedded Services, Psychological Assessments, Disordered Eating, Gender Affirmation Trauma, Substance Use, Research, Graduate and International student concerns. Pennsylvania license or licensed eligible in Pennsylvania at hire and ability to be licensed within one year of hire.
