Position Overview:

The role of the Strategic Account Marketing Manager will work directly with our key account sales teams and other cross-functional leaders to build and execute account-based marketing programs intended to increase awareness and adoption within our key accounts while supporting the overall commercial business plan, and maximizing sales revenue and margins.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building and managing marketing programs, developing and executing strategic account-based strategies and marketing campaigns. The candidate will have experience taking an analytical approach to developing account-based marketing plans and engaging with sales leadership at the highest level. This person will have expertise working within cross-functional teams, albeit non-supervisory and can demonstrate experience in building integrated marketing campaigns intended to differentiate the Matrix brand from the competition. The role demands a customer-centric, solutions approach while developing account-based marketing strategies for the accounts.


Work with the Commercial Key Account Sales team to develop an account-based marketing strategy, define the target audience within the account and develop an execution plan to increase awareness, reputation and consideration for Matrix Fitness products and solutions.

Work with the creative team to execute account-based marketing campaign assets.

Help identify key decision makers and stakeholders within each account, and address their needs with our total solutions proposal

Seek out and communicate meaningful insights from key accounts and the market

Build trust as an advisor to the business, challenge the status quo, and prioritize account-based marketing initiatives based on strategic impact to the business.

Develop and maintain comprehensive account profiles and contacts

Develop a product gap analysis for each account

Grow existing product placements with key accounts while introducing new product opportunities

Strive to develop programs that lock in key accounts to exclusive long term contracts

Provide broader visibility to the organization of key account needs

Work closely with the various departments to ensure execution of all elements of the marketing / sales plan

Provide direction to the marketing department on key marketing opportunities with the key accounts

Provide regular interface with customers to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction

Provide monthly and quarterly reports along with updates on execution progress of the Strategic Sales and Marketing Brief, to the Key Account Rep, EVP of Sales, and President

Accurately manage expenses in accordance with budgetary requirements



Five or more years of executing account-based marketing campaigns that drive measurable sales revenue

Strong project management skills with 100% follow-through and the ability to execute on multiple projects simultaneously

Advanced communication (written and verbal), organizational, and problem solving skills

Strong interpersonal skills, including effective presentation and listening skills

Inspires a shared vision

Strong team building skills

Building and nurturing internal and external relationships

Solid understanding of core marketing principles

Highly effective working in a close team environment

Ability to influence and manage cross functional team support

Ability to execute responsibilities and delegate and manage tasks

Strong resilience with the ability to overcome objections and obstacles

Problem solving skills with ability to maintain optimism when encountering hurdles

RFP/RFQ writing experience preferred

Microsoft CRM and ClickDimensions experience preferred

B2B marketing preferred

Health club experience a plus

BA or BS with MBA a plus
