JOB TITLE: Strategic Communications Program Analyst OPNAV N2N6 MDA

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The US Navy headquarters staff at the Pentagon, known as OPNAV, supports the Chief of Naval Operations in his mission to support the warfighter by setting requirements, budgeting resources, and managing programs for many different Navy programs.

Provide support services to the N2N6I Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) Branch of the Information Dominance Community (N2N6) to address MDA capability gaps in support of the Secretary of the Navy to meet requirements as the DoD Executive Agent for MDA (EAMDA).

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide strategic communications support to MDA policy and programs across DoD, other US govt agencies, and international partners and allies. Tasks include:

  • Assist in the development of comprehensive communications products, utilizing all appropriate media delivery techniques to include print, social media, and web based tools.
  • Assist in the development of communication deliverables that effectively articulate the purpose and benefits of MDA and support N2N6 goals and objectives. Identify additional tools and techniques to better reach target audience groups. Provide engagement, education, training, and awareness of MDA activities that assist N2N6 in presenting its products. These efforts shall require occasional interaction and analysis with Combatant Commands, other military services, interagency, industry, and international partners.
  • Research, analyze, and prepare policy position papers, briefing slides, information papers, and talking points for N2N6 senior leadership in preparation for counterpart visits and meetings.
  • Proactively coordinate with Service, Joint office, federal agency, and interagency/international partners on MDA programs and policy issues, including occasional participation in TELCON Working Groups. Provide engagement, education, training, and awareness of MDA activities that assist N2N6 in effectively articulating the benefits, offerings, and added value of MDA.
  • Develop materials to promote Navy maritime information management/sharing concepts within DoD and/or interagency processes.
  • Provide support to administrative processes and routine office tasks including, but not limited to, fulfilling periodic reporting requirements, taking minutes at key meetings, and escorting un-cleared personnel through classified spaces.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • 7 years of progressive experience (min 3 years in managerial capacity) in capability definition and operation of Navy and/or DoD systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering strategic communications via print, social media, and web-based tools.
  • Proficiency with executive correspondence and Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of maritime operations, objectives and missions.

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • OPNAV or military staff experience.
  • Navy or Coast Guard operational experience.
