Job Description:
Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Analyst is someone who performs a variety of supply chain management duties in accordance with company policies and procedures. Duties include analyzing the purchasing, forecasting, transportation, and inventory management functions throughout the supply chain. This role requires analysis of MRP requirements, negotiation with suppliers, PO placement, and follow-up of delivery dates regarding components and/or finished product. This is a non-supervisory position.
Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Assist with finished goods and/or parts planning; evaluate slow moving parts and scrap if necessary, work with Quality department to evaluate parts needs based on monthly work plans and place appropriate orders, review usage trends and adjust the re-order levels
Optimize product and component inventory levels to coincide with demand and lead time changes
Work with the warehouse, logistics, refurb, and assembly departments on other projects related to inventory management
Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure integrity of product attributes in master data
Set up new products; coordinate with product and sales team on phase in/phase out planning
Communicate regularly with management and sales team about inventory availability
Purchasing:
Convert MRP requirements to regular purchase orders ensuring products are produced on time and delivered to customers or the warehouse according to planned dates
Track shipped orders and report estimated arrival dates to Accounting, Logistics, Warehouse, and Sales Teams
Analyze and revise future shipment plans as needed: includes expediting, delaying, or cancelling orders
Reporting:
Complete and maintain reports and metrics for analysis and distribution to staff and management
Responsible for updating existing reports and developing new ones
Responsible for tracking departmental performance metrics
Other:
Actively participate in cross functional meetings when required
Work closely with all internal and external suppliers and vendors
Maintain work area to 5S standards as posted in work area
Promote a positive team atmosphere with co-workers
Maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) for all duties and tasks
Work with the warehouse, logistics, refurb, and assembly departments on other projects related to inventory management
Other projects as needed
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors Degree (Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management) required
APICS CPIM Certification preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years experience in Supply Chain Management in manufacturing environment required
History of proven Supply Chain experience and success with preference to procurement
Other Requirements:
SAP, Access, ERP, statistical tools, data mining/reporting tools preferred
Well versed with Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Microsoft Excel skills (knowledge of pivot tables, v-lookup, auto filers, etc.) required
Minimal domestic, local and international travel may be required (customer visits, factory visits)
Valid drivers license required
