Empire State College was established in 1971 by Dr. Ernest Boyer as a distinctive statewide institution focused on innovative and nontraditional teaching and learning.

Empire State College is a part of the SUNY System and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. With headquarters in Saratoga Springs, New York, ESC serves mostly working adults pursuing associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees online and onsite at 35 locations across the state of New York and abroad.

The State University of New York Empire State College Teacher Education Programs are seeking secondary education field supervisors in several New York State Regions. Field supervisors observe, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to students during their clinical placements. Supervisors are needed in the following regions and certification areas:

Syracuse-Utica -Science (all secondary certification areas) & Special Education

Capital Region – Science (all secondary certification areas) & Special Education

Long Island – Special Education

New York City – Special Education

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree
• Professional or permanent New York State certification in the specified certification area or building leader certification
• A minimum of 5 years of teaching or teacher supervision experience, with at least 3 years of being a secondary classroom teacher of record
• Ability to utilize educational technologies

• Observation experience
• Knowledge of APPR and edTPA

Rank/Salary: $104 per observation plus travel
