Job Description:

Position Overview:

  • Under the direction of the Technical Training and Field Service Manager, the Technical Training & Field Support Specialist performs live technical trainings, assist in document creation and assist in supporting the Johnson Field Technicians. Responsibilities include conducting technical training, assisting in training document creation and assisting in the processing of part orders, case creation and dispatching of Johnson Field Technicians. This is a non-supervisory position.

Responsibilities:

Technical Training:

  • Perform technical training
  • Assist in training registration, case creation, credit card payments and updating training rosters
  • Assist in creating new power point training, editing and updating existing training materials
  • Work closely with TCMT to create and edit training support videos and document creation
  • Attend new product meetings
  • Stay up to date on new product, software, new part and product rework

Field Support:

  • Provide phone and email support for Johnson Field Technicians
  • Research answers to technical questions
  • Assist Field Technician Specialist when needed
  • Ride along with Johnson Field Technicians when needed
  • Assist with escalated field service cases when needed

General Responsibilities:

  • Be aware of the company goals and work to achieve department KPIs
  • Be available during work hours and keep Outlook calendar updated
  • Projects as needed

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • Previous experience teaching technicians and/or CTS reps
  • Proficient in CRM and Online Remedy with ability to learn SAP
  • 6 12 months experience in Technical Support maintaining a high level of quality service, meet the KPI requirements
  • Previous field technician experience preferred but not required

Other Requirements:

  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite with an emphasis on Power Point, Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and solve technical problems

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hand to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach above the shoulders, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work from the Cottage Grove office and home. Infrequent NYD, NAD and LA Warehouse office visits may be required.
  • Occasional customer facility visits may be scheduled to assist in escalated cases
  • Occasional field tech ride along may be scheduled to stay up to date on changing processes and repairs
