Job Description:

Consortiq has an opportunity for an Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle (UAV/sUAS) course instructor based in the United States with episodic deployments outside of the United States. Consortiq provides drone training and unmanned aerial systems consulting services and software. As such, we are seeking applicants who share our core values and can deliver sUAS courses for a variety of corporate and government clients.  Near term recruitment efforts are focused on finding an instructor on the east coast of the United States to teach courses in multiple locations, but we are accepting applications submitted from other locations as we have training assignments coast-to-coast and occasionally overseas.

Consortiq will provide on-site training for our specialized training delivery.

Position Details

Job Title: Unmanned Aerial System Instructor

Contract Term:  Full-Time  Position Available

Location: United States, Eastern Time Zone 

Reports to: Chief Flight Instructor

Academic Requirements: FAA Part 107 sUAS certification; College Degree preferred

Operational Requirements: Must be comfortable presenting/interacting in front of large groups.  Highly skilled in manual operation of UAS/UAV (line-of-sight and first-person-view).

Highly Desirable: Aviation background, Military Platforms/Group I through III UAS experience (Raven, Puma, Scan Eagle, Indago, InstantEye etc.), Military experience (operations background), spanish speaking, instructor/teaching background, sUAS experience in one or market sectors.

Outline of Duties

In addition to performing  the daily duties associated with delivering our training courses, the sUAS course instructor will also stay current on all changes to FAA regulations and technological developments in the drone industry. He or she will also maintain advanced proficiency in flying drones.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sUAS training courses (theory and practical)
  • Communicating with US Chief Instructor, Operations Manager, Sales and Marketing Personnel, and other Consortiq team members
  • Collaborating with other instructors and flight assessors for course improvement
  • Developing personal professional skills to  improve the quality of the course delivery and optimize student achievement
  • Submitting expense reports monthly to Director of Finance
  • Be able to travel out-of-state at short notice
  • Be able to travel out-of-country at short notice
  • Required to attend periodic business meetings in the US office

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:

  1.                  Be able to stand on your feet for 5-8 hours
  2.                  Be able to lift over 55 pounds
  3.                  Either 20/20 vision or contacts or glasses to correct vision to 20/20
  4.                 Be able to pass an FAA 3rd Class Medical Exam
  5.                  Be able to work outside and traverse uneven terrain
