Job Description:

Position Overview

Under the direction of the VP of Commercial Operations, the Warehouse and Assembly Manager is someone who leads in accordance with company policies and procedures. Duties include managing the daily warehouse and assembly activities and other duties as assigned. This position includes supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Warehouse Management:

Receive inventory and keep accurate & up-to-date records

Organize MBOs to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency in improving operations

Train staff to perform tasks in accordance to job responsibilities

Meet dispatch deadlines and ensure quality of orders

Monitor, reduce and control warehouse and handling costs, audit and sign off on all dispatch related invoices against agreed quotes

Ensure shipments are accurate and without customer compliant

Ordering for consumables and packaging requirements including control of materials, cost reductions and improved quality

Manage inventory flow between facilities

Provide monthly metrics of warehouse related processes

Promote a 5S and Continuous Improvement environment

Promote and provide a safe environment for employees

Monitor and manage employee time sheets in HRIS/Payroll system

Assembly:

Manage the build of strength equipment for outgoing orders

Provide monthly metrics of assembly productivity

Manage the purchasing of assembly supplies

Train staff in the assembly and quality processes

Determine when and what needs to be built through production scheduling

Management:

Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and controlling.

Train supervisors in all aspects of warehouse management

Ensure employee training is documented and up to date

Ensure work instructions are accurate and up to date

Provide clear and concise directions and expectations to staff

Supervisory:

Responsible for staffing, terminations, disciplinary actions, training, and developing subordinates

Responsible for completing adequate performance documentation on time.

Skills

Process Knowledge:

Knowledge of and experience with high volume warehouse and assembly operations

Knowledge of and experience with FIFO, RF scanning, lean, and continuous improvement

Knowledge of all working warehouse processes

Communication:

Ability to read and write English

Ability to quickly and accurately compare alpha numerical characters and product descriptions

Able to effectively presents ideas and information through oral and written communication skills

Initiative:

Strong sense of initiative and a sense of urgency, demonstrated by accomplishing tasks; improving current work processes; and assisting others when necessary

Achieves high percent of task target dates

Suggests, develops and improves current work processes

Interpersonal:

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse group of co-workers, customers and vendors

Assist with warehouse layout and storage practices for maximum efficiencies

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent is required

Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Operations management is desired

Experience:

7 10 years of warehouse and assembly management experience

Strong leadership skills and a proven background of influencing others and leading change

Proven experience with setting, pursuing and achieving aggressive goals

Experience with domestic and international shipping procedures and processes to include import/export requirements

Other Requirements:

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Strong background with current technologies including SAP and facilities management software
