ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting of products for the manufacturing of trailers by applying knowledge of welding and cutting techniques, materials, and equipment, and fabrication requirements: Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine need for supplies and sequence of operations required.

Focus on Safety protocols and make sure all employees are adhering to company PPE requirements.
Uphold high Quality standards and enforce Quality process checks. • Participate in and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives

. • Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process by observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying the manufacturing methods

. • Implement cost reductions by developing reporting procedures and systems.

Build a team work atmosphere within own areas of responsibility and between departments.
Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards

. • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data.
Communicates answers to questions and responds to employee requests

. • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements

Implements process changes generated from employee suggestions or other areas.

Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.
Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Trouble shoot issues that arise during production runs.
Requisitions supplies, such as weld rods, gas, flux, and fixtures.
Inspects work or confers with quality inspectors to maintain specified standards and quality.
Trains workers in operation of equipment.
May set up machines or make trial welds to make test runs and experimental products.
May supervise brazing and soldering operations.
Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. Incumbent will follow other job-related instructions and perform other job-related duties from time to time if requested by department management

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS (Education, experience, certifications, proficiencies, etc.)

3 – 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment • 5+ years welding experience • High School diploma or equivalent

OTHER DUTIES & EXPECTATIONS

Must exercise continuous leadership to focus plant efforts on priorities.
Must deal with constantly shifting priorities.
Must be technically proficient to “troubleshoot” welding issues.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

To perform the duties of this job, an individual must be able to read, write understand and communicate by telephone using the English Language. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time (3-4 hours at a time). Specific vision abilities required to this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to enter information into a computer.
